Starts on Friday on FX for me? Very much looking forward to this, have been addicted to the comics since discovering them last week.

Meh; i assume these zombies only attack by walking across your garden to get to you? Careful planting is the only defence i can think of these days...

Or just strategically place a whole bunch of lawnmowers around the garden.

Pretty standard zombie themed movie opener.
I would prefer a group survival theme over the lone cowboy one though. Let's see.
Edit: Damn, Sara Tancredi from Prison Break is playing... Ugly flashbacks >.< Edit2: USA South accent pisses me off royally

Thought it was decent, only minor point is the fact that it shares its beginning with 28 Days Later which I found a bit annoying .

When 28 days came out he was already writing issue #2. He decided not to change #1 as he thought the comparison would be forgotten about soon enough... then they made a TV series! :p

You could argue '28 days later' ripped off the start from Day of the Triffids (1951!) anyway. Bloke wakes up in hospital, world ravaged around him, bands together with survivors against a shuffling menace...

To be fair, if you have to have someone dropped into a (zombie) post apocalyptic world, it's quite a plausible way to do it.
It's not like you can pop out to the shops and come back to find everything fucked!

Ah, but you could wake up then go out to the shops (to buy a Cornetto, for example) and find everything fucked... but not realise it at the time.
