Name: Janbart

Age: 22

Character Information: Troll priest - Main spec: Discipline / Off Spec: Shadow

Give us some information on your spec(s) and why you chose it/them (include info on why you chose specific talents which might be considered unusual):

Discipline:
When I first started to play this character I lvled it as discipline (This was in TBC so well before dual spec was available) as it was a viable lvling spec due to it's decent damage output aswel as having the option to heal dungeons. When I finally reached max lvl (this was wotlk due to breaks and general slacking/casualness) I started raiding and stayed with discipline. Mainly because I enjoyed lvling as disc + the fact that at that time there weren't too many discipline priests around on my realm. (Used to be Bronzebeard alliance)

I didn't opted for the archangel spec as I don't think it's viable outside 5mans. I don't think I picked up any unusual talents. The only thing that might pop up for some is the 1 point in Inner Sanctum instead of Desperate Prayer. But I just like the 2% spell dmg reduction/2% speed increase more.

Shadow:

When I started to raid with The Scholars of light (see below) I started as discipline. But due to a lack of ranged dps and having no spriest in the raid I was asked if I wanted to change specs which I did. I enjoyed healing but I enjoyed raiding in general more and by going shadow I had a guaranteed spot in the "core" team.

I don't think my shadowspec has any unusual talents, pretty standard.

Notable Alts:

Machien - Blood/Frost DK
Waanzin - Fury/Arms Warrior
Botsbal - Holy/Retri Paladin

What are your current/past guilds and the reasons you left them?

As stated above I migrated to this realm from Bronzebeard alliance so the following guilds won't mean anything to you but here goes. (I'll only mention raiding guilds)

Being new to raiding I started with a guild called Affinity (25man) where I learned the basics of raiding. I had enough experience doing 5man hc but had never seen the inside of a raid instance. While getting the hang of raiding I felt I was able to raid at a higher lvl, so I applied to one of the top 3 raiding guilds on the server (wotlk progress is still on the bronzebeard forum for references):

The Scholars of Light (25man).
I raided with them for about 6-7 months and was then forced to quit playing WoW due to no computer and evening school. I was pretty hardcore during that time as we raided 5 days a week. (This fact had nothing to do with being a top 3 guild as most guilds on bronzebeard raid 5 days a week)

When I came back to WoW I was 2 tiers behind and a more casual player. When my IRL mate Superkoe started to play again I decided to transfer here to bloodhoof. I then joined the same guild as him but as social.

After some time I wanted to pick up raiding again which leads to my current guild:

Heuristic.

A guild I formed with some people I met here thinking we would be able to form a decent raiding guild (Mainly because I started raiding cata raids "late" ; lacking gear and being new to the realm I didn't think I had any chance of getting in an established raiding guild). As stated above I'm rather new to this realm therefore no name and fame which makes it very hard to attract strong players. We tried for a while but it isn't going in the good direction which is the reason I want to move on.

Why are you interested in joining Awesome Grats?

I heard nothing but good things about you guys from Superkoe + the fact that you are a 25man raiding guild. I still find it more enjoyable and satisfying to accomplish something with 25 people instead of 10.

Raiding experience (this can be any and all raiding experience you've had from release up to present):

Wotlk (25man versions):

Naxxramas
Vault of Archavon (To be complete)
Eye of Eternity
Obsidian Sanctum
Ulduar (Unfortuneatly Algalon not included as I dropped out at the time my guild had it's first tries on him)

Cataclysm:
Blackwing Descent
Bastion of Twilight
Throne of the Four Winds
Baradin Hold (To be complete)

Which days are you usually available to raid?

I'm available monday/tuesday/wednesday/thursday and Sunday.

Do you use an authenticator with your battle.net account? (If not, say why)

I don't. To be honest I've never had any security issues so I never really thought about getting one but if it's required I'm happy to get one.

Other info about yourself:

Armory link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/bloodhoof/Vreemd/simple

(I'll log out in my healing gear - reforging / enchants / gems might not seem right but this is becaue i'm playing around with specs etc. If any questions should arise on that topic i'm happy to answer those)

Myself:

I'm a laidback guy who enjoys going out and drinking beer, as most guys of my age I guess. I don't go to school anymore, I work. So no schoolwork that can get in the way.

Character:

You probably will have noticed by now that I don't have any Firelands experience nor is my gear on par with yours. But I still think I can be an asset to the guild if given the chance. I admit I'll need some gearing up before I can perform to the fullest and I will make a few mistakes in the beginning regarding boss tactics etc. But I can assure you that I'm fast learner and I know how raiding works. I always keep myself up to date on the latest class changes (I'm intelligent enough to read tooltips and understand them but i'm not a theorycrafter that's why we have elitist-jerks).

I've stated my mainspec as Discipline but I'm happy to join as any spec that is desired by the guild as I feel confortable enough to say that I master the whole priest class.

If by now I still don't have convinced you I'm pretty sure Superkoe can vouch for me if that would mean anything to you.

Hey there!

Thank you for your application to Awesome Grats, and welcome to our boards.

I've opened an internal thread to discuss your application, we should get back to you in a few days (tops a week) with an answer.

Till that, don't hesitate to ask if you have any question, we will do the same.

Cheers,

Hi and thanks for a nicely written application. We are currently looking for a good healer or two to strengthen our healing team. As Fondorlat wrote, we will discuss your application over the next couple of days.

I have one question for you. What's your raiding experience with hard modes or end bosses while they were relevant and challenging?

I also strongly suggest you get an authenticator. The reason is that over the years we've seen a fair few of our members getting hacked. After we started to encourage people to get authenticators the problem has almost disappeared.

Hi,

All ulduar normal bosskills were before the nerf was implemented (achievement dates as references) with a couple of semi-hardmodes before the nerf aswel. So wiping for multiple hours and days are no strangers for me when it comes to progression raids.

Since I mainly pugged or semi-pugged cata raids I can't say the same for all bosskills acquired in those.

But as stated above I'm familiar with progression raids before nerfs if that was the question behind your question.

Hey Vreemd,

4 days and I'm writing this message. We are breaking our record!

On topic, however mentioning Superkoe can have certain conclusion for an applicant, this time it was a positive one. I'm happy to inform you that we would like to a trial position in Awesome Grats!

Please chuck a whisper for an invite to an officer (Brilhasti, Funder, Fondorlat or Gekz) next time you see any of us!

Cheers,
Fond
